Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, can make many records in the Test series against West Indies starting on 22 August. While Virat will equal MS Dhoni’s record of winning the most matches as captain, after winning the first Test match, Chiku also has a chance to break the record of the great batsman Don Bradman.
Virat is in tremendous form at the moment. His ODI series against the West Indies yielded two consecutive centuries with his bat. If he maintains the same spirit in the Test series, then he can match the great Bradman. Bradman has scored a total of 29 centuries in Test cricket and Kohli has his chance to equalize. Kohli has 25 Test centuries while Bradman has 29 centuries. If Kohli scores a century in all four innings of two Test matches, then he will be equal to Don in terms of most Test centuries. The way Virat is playing, scoring four centuries in four innings is not a big deal for him.
Virat Kohli has so far scored 686 runs in 15 Test innings against West Indies at an average of 45.73 with the help of two centuries and three fifties. In such a situation, Kohli has a chance to complete his 1000 Test runs against the West Indies. They are 314 runs away from this figure. If Kohli achieves this feat, he will be the 11th batsman from India to do so.
This will be Virat Kohli’s 47th Test as captain. A Test win would bring Virat on par with Dhoni. Virat currently has 26 wins in his account, while Dhoni won 27 out of 60 Tests under his captaincy. In such a situation, Virat is now only 1 win behind Dhoni. India has to play two Tests against West Indies, so they can break Dhoni’s record in this series and become India’s most successful captain.
