Friends, the third ODI between India and West Indies is going to be played soon. In the three-match ODI series, India has taken a 1-0 lead and now in the third ODI, the focus of Team India is towards a clean sweep.
In the second ODI, thanks to the innings of 71 runs by young batsman Shreyas Iyer, he scored a score of 279 runs. Shreyas along with captain Kohli has praised the way he has taken the responsibility of taking the innings forward.
Sunil Gavaskar said – This player got a chance at number 4!
Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Sunil Gavaskar believes that young batsman Shreyas Iyer should bat at number four in the ODI team. At the same time, Gavaskar also said that Iyer, captain of the IPL Delhi Capitals team, should be installed as a regular batsman on this line.
Gavaskar said that according to me, Pant should be sent as a finisher at number five or six like Mahendra Singh Dhoni as his natural game will come out there. He said that if India gets a good start and Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma persist for 40-45 overs then Pant should come at number-4, but if there is a question of batting 30-35 overs then I would have understood I should send Iyer to four and then Pant to number five.
