Paddy Upton, former pre-conditional coach of the Indian team, has prepared a series of reports about Indian cricket in his book ‘The Barefoot’, which includes controversial discussions about former opener Gautam Gambhir.
In his book, Upton has told an interesting story about former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. During the book’s opening, he tells how Dhoni advised a very interesting phrase to stop the players coming late. paddy made an interesting statement about Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his book. He disclosed that he wrote that when the players used to come late on the field, Dhoni used to punish him with a fine of Rs 10,000.
In his book, Upton wrote when I joined the team, then Test captain Anil Kumble and MS Dhoni were the captains of the ODI team. When the players used to come late on the field, Dhoni offered him a fine of Rs 10,000 as punishment.
Kumble and Dhoni together formed this rule, which would have to pay a penalty of ten thousand rupees which came late. After the implementation of this rule, none of the players in the ODI team came late.
